The Series
Dream of a Night in Giza is Dan Aug's major Egyptian visionary and symbolic painting cycle. First developed in 2002 and expanded through more than two decades of artistic research, the series comprises 46 original paintings exploring Ancient Egypt, Kemet, pyramids, sacred architecture, mythology, archaeology, Neferu, spiritual symbolism and cosmic imagination through a contemporary visual language.

This homepage presents the Core Selection, a curated group of 18 paintings that introduces the conceptual and visual universe of the complete cycle. Rather than reconstructing historical events, each painting proposes a dialogue between memory, myth, architecture, light and imagination, inviting viewers to experience Ancient Egypt through a contemporary symbolic perspective. The series is also connected to Dan Aug's fictional novel The Legacy of Neferu, expanding the project into a broader artistic and literary universe.
